This annual event is held early in September, and is a key event for Beausejour, drawing people from all around. It features competitors from all over, and plenty of other activities like a pancake breakfast, pony rides, agricultural displays, antique tractor displays, a saloon, mutton busting, fireworks, a barn dance with a live band, and more. The Double B Rodeo and Country Fair parade on Saturday morning is a huge draw all by itself.

The Town of Beausejour has established a Centennial Committee which meets on a monthly basis at the SunGro Centre. The chairman is councillor Ed Dubray and the secretary is Bruce Schade. The committee is always looking for volunteers to help plan and carry out the Town of Beausejour’s Centennial Celebrations. A number of sub-committees will be required to ensure a truly memorable celebration. We are looking for volunteers for the History Committee, the Public Relations Committee, the Events Committee, the Merchandising/Souvenir Committee and the Registration Committee. If any of these committees interest you, please give us a call.
The Broken-Beau Historical Society has agreed to be part of the Homecoming Celebrations and has changed the date of their Heritage Day Festival to Sunday August 5, 2012. The committee is in the process of arranging to have the R.C.M.P. Musical Ride to be part of the celebration which will be capped off with a giant fireworks display in the evening. Opening ceremonies could also include a fly over from the Canadian Air Division. We are hoping for a few school reunions to be held during the Homecoming Weekend so if you have family, relatives or friends living outside of the province, be sure to invite them back home for the Centennial Celebrations.
For more information call the Town Office at 268-7550 or councillor Ed Dubray at 268-3022.
